After a small first edition in 2021 due to the COVID pandemic, the Istria PlayOut Tennis Classic returned to Pula as masters series event in 2023. The beautiful Verudela Beach & Tennis Resort and Tennis Club Bunarini welcomed the GLTA community once more for a weekend full of tennis, socializing, nighttime fun and other excitements.
This year's tournament started with special treat for our players - a sightseeing tour of the historic city of Pula, which started at the spectacular Arena Colosseum, the only remaining Roman amphitheater in the word with a complete circle. We wrapped up the the first evening with the registration & welcome party at the Shipyard Pub, a stylish post-industrial setting with live music and a great selection of beers.
On Friday and Saturday, it was mostly tennis time, as 148 players took on 20 tennis courts next to the sea. Unlike our first three editions, this time we were blessed by great weather and the hot Mediterranean sun throughout the whole tournament. The player’s dinner party was held at the restaurant Boschetto, offering a variety of local cuisine, live music and a raffle game. We concluded the evening/night with cocktails at the Beach & Lounge Bar Zeppelin.
We want to thank all the players for supporting us, especially those who are are regular participants of our tournaments. Congratulations all our champions, finalists and consolation winners.
